Deck and Screened Porch in Hillsborough, NC

There is no greater compliment than getting a call from a neighbor, friend, or family member of our past clients. We were delighted to hear from the neighbor of a recent client who wanted to upgrade their outdoor living space to a new deck and screened porch in Hillsborough, NC. Their worn-out deck was original to the home and needed work.

We created a plan to remove the old deck and build a 30’X21′ deck with 21’X21′ enclosed in a screened porch with electrical inside. While we were removing the existing deck, we discovered it had not been flashed properly causing the door and two windows to rot. We discussed it with the client, issued a change-order, repaired the rotten wall, and replaced the patio double doors and two windows.

Once we were back on track, we incorporated an open ceiling into the screened porch and tied load-bearing beams into the existing framing of the house. We used HardiePlank siding on the gables to match the exterior of the home and added gutters and PVC fascia around the porch. The client chose double-screen doors similar to french doors so they could move furniture in and out easily. A bartop and extra-wide steps for the deck finished off this spacious, outdoor living area.

If you or anyone you know is interested in upgrading their outdoor living space to include a screened porch, contact us today for an estimate. We would love the opportunity to turn your dreams into a reality.
