Primary Bathroom Remodel Hillsborough, NC

In our latest primary bathroom remodel in Hillsborough, NC, the homeowner used bold accents to create a modern aesthetic. Read on to learn what choices made the biggest impact and to see the before and after images of this unique project!

It may be no surprise that the homeowner wanted to get rid of the oversized garden tub to make room for an enlarged walk-in shower, but the frameless glass, built-in bench, and linen closet on the opposite side of the shower take this design to the next level. The black band of accent tile mid-way and at the bottom of the shower created a stark contrast to the white subway tile and tied in seamlessly with the bold pattern on the floor. We removed the old glass-block window and installed a new transom window. This modern window allows even more natural light while still eliminating any privacy concerns.

Though the bold pattern on the floor makes quite an impact, the high-end freestanding vanity, made with sustainable wood by Room & Board, neutralizes the bold pattern with wood-recessed panel slab-style cabinets, tapered legs, white quartz countertops, and small black knobs. The clean lines of this furniture-style vanity really grounds the space. The black accents carry throughout the bathroom including the lighting, the trim around the mirrors, and all of the hardware including the shower, doorknobs, and the shelf on the wall.
