At Housing Solutions, we recently had the privilege of renovating a home through a referral from a local custom home builder. The homeowners were eager to commence the renovation immediately after the sale was finalized, and we wasted no time in bringing their vision to life. Collaborating with the previous homeowner, who was patiently awaiting the completion of their new build, we dove into the project, commencing renovations on the first floor.
The heart of the project really centered around the kitchen. The homeowner collaborated closely with our designer to achieve a customized and tailored result. The outdated dark, reddish-brown cabinets were replaced with stylish and contemporary white Wellborn Cabinets, showcasing our authorized dealership with the brand. The new kitchen boasts an abundance of cabinetry, including utility cabinets, deeper cabinets for additional storage, and a new layout around the fridge. Custom features such as a spice pullout, a hidden trash can receptacle, and a step-ladder pullout for easy access to the new stacked cabinets were integrated. A standout feature is the island, featuring a cabinet with a hydraulic platform for the homeowner’s large mixer, offering convenience and maximizing counter space. A hide-a-hood vent, built seamlessly into the cabinets, adds to the kitchen’s sleek aesthetic.
The stove was converted from gas to induction, and a dry bar, complete with a wine rack and upper cabinets with vertical hydraulic hinges, was incorporated into the design. Under-cabinet lighting illuminates the kitchen, while can lights and new pendants over the island enhance the overall ambiance. The renovation extends to electrical upgrades, including a new garbage disposal and an undermount sink with sliding cutting board and drying rack. The kitchen’s crowning glory is the quartz countertops, complemented by a subway backsplash, adding a touch of timeless elegance to the space.
We infused a fresh vibrancy throughout the entire house by applying a new coat of paint on both the first and second floors. In the living room, we upgraded from carpeting to new flooring, extending the transformation to the entire first floor. Additionally, we revamped the staircase by removing the outdated knee wall and introducing iron spindles with knuckles at regular intervals. This alteration not only modernizes the staircase but also imparts sophistication and visual interest to the overall design, creating a seamless and contemporary ambiance throughout the home.
